The Voyagers matter today for reasons that have nothing to do with nostalgia or the length of the mission. Their importance comes from where they are and what they’re measuring.
No other spacecraft has ever reached interstellar space. For decades, scientists built models of the heliosphere using indirect measurements from inside the solar system. Those models were useful, but they were guesses.
The Voyagers turned those guesses into real numbers. They showed what the boundary looks like, how it behaves, and how it changes over time. That information reshaped the entire understanding of how the Sun interacts with the galaxy.
