"Some people find that shopping by computer lacks the human touch."
Philippa Forrester gets to experience a shopping trip to Paris, from the comfort of her room, thanks to the wonders of turn-of-the-millenium technology.
In 1999, British shoppers spent an estimated 230 million pounds shopping on the internet, a figure that is expected to grow and grow. When it comes to shopping for clothes, though, internet shopping can lack the sense of discovery of an old-fashioned trip to the shops. Enter the "web shopper" - in this case Laetitia - a personal shopper equipped with rollerblades, a laptop, a web cam and a mobile phone, who will navigate the ailses of Paris' chicest shops for you, and send you digital pictures of the latest stock. It's just like being there!
