12,000-Year-Old Human Statue Discovered at Göbekli Tepe

The Turklish Ministry of Culture and Tourism has announced a brand-new discovery at the ancient Pre-Pottery Neolithic site of Gobekli Tepe, a site with origins going back some 11 and a half thousand years.

As many of you will know from watching my channel, Gobekli Tepe is UNESCO World Heritage Site, a huge archaeological complex, partly excavated, with oval, communal, special-purpose structures, surrounded by more domestic buildings including dwellings.

The new discovery, a human statue, was found embedded in a wall between two of the site’s communal structures, and was unveiled by the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism during a ceremony attended by Princess Akiko of Japan.
