Over the past week or so, dozens of incredible new discoveries in SE Turkey have been announced, and they date back to between 10 and 11,000 years ago, as archaeologists have showcased to the media their most exciting new finds from 2025.
The finds scan the famous Tas Tepeler sites, including Gobekli tepe, Karahan Tepe, Sayburc, Sefer Tepe and more, and I have to say, you won’t be disappointed.
From a huge rectangular buildings an amphitheatre and colossal statues, to intricate jewellery, amulets and animal sculptures, 2025 has certainly been a year of discovery.
Gobekli Tepe is now certainly just one of many incredible sites from this remote epoch, and as our understanding deepens, more questions arise.
