12,000-Year-Old Underwater Rock Art Discovered Near Göbekli Tepe

For those interested in Gobekli Tepe and the Pre-Pottery Neolithic, there’s some exciting news coming out of Turkey, as 12,000-Year-Old rock engravings have been discovered – and they’re underwater.

The engravings are believed to date to the Epipalaeolithic period, meaning the culture that created them came before the Pre-Pottery Neolithic culture we’ve come to know so well, aka the people behind the enigmatic Gobekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, Sayburc and so on.
