Toshiba's story begins in 1875 with an inventor who built mechanical dolls. It ends, at least as a public company, in December 2023.

In between: Japan's first telegraph equipment, the world's first automatic rice cooker, the Aurex hi-fi brand, flash memory, the first mass-market laptop, a nuclear disaster, and one of the largest corporate scandals in Japanese history.

This video covers the full history of Toshiba, with a focus on its hi-fi and AV legacy, including the Aurex micro systems, the SR-510 turntable, the ADRES noise reduction system, and the company's place in the golden age of Japanese audio.
