Bomb Cyclone Slams New York, Residents Told to Stay at Home

Millions of people have been urged not to travel as a mega storm continues to wreak havoc on the Northeast of the US.

The bad winter weather has forced travel bans in New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island.

Broadway shows were cancelled in New York City on Sunday with blizzard warnings stretching from Maryland to Maine.

Experts have warned the storm could reach bomb cyclone status - when a weather system drops at least 24 millibars in pressure in 24 hours.
