The Oort Cloud | Not What Scientists Expected

When we step back and look at the entire picture, the Solar System feels very different from the diagrams we saw in school. It is not a crowded family of planets huddled around a warm fire. It is a lonely island in the middle of a vast and dark ocean.

The Oort Cloud is the shoreline of that island. It marks the end of the place where we can survive and the beginning of the interstellar void that we are not yet ready to cross.
