Heintje (Simons) was discovered and brought to great heights by Addy Kleijngeld from Helmond, who was his mentor, lyricist, composer, producer, manager, and second father.
And after Addy (as producer) secured the release of his first LP, records were broken on all fronts.
Here we see Heintje in footage from 1968, singing the German version of his hit "Oma'tje lief" (Oma'tje Sweet), which also became a hit in Germany, where he was, if possible, even more popular than in Belgium.
Year of recording and release: 1968
