Far beyond the solar system stretches into a vast region called the Kuiper Belt.
This is a guided journey beyond the 5 official dwarf planets to ten of the largest dwarf planet candidates in the Kuiper Belt discovered so far.
Each world is introduced with some science that is known about them: their size, distance from the sun, temperature, day and year length, atmosphere, moons, and the strange features that make them unlike anything in the inner solar system.
The objects we will be exploring are Gonggong, Máni, Orcus, Sedna, Quaoar, Achlys Varda, Salacia, Aya, and Ixion.
These objects are just a small glimpse into how diverse the outer solar system truly is. Some may hold thin, unstable atmospheres. Others may have none at all. But each world is unique, and offers a great deal for us to learn.
If you’re curious about dwarf planets, Kuiper Belt objects, or the hidden architecture of our solar system, this video offers an exploration of the worlds that rarely make the headlines, but quietly reshape our understanding of our solar system.
