5,000 Years Old Sumerian Computers | No Explanation

The oldest mathematical tablets in human history are not records of calculations that humans performed.

They are pre-computed answer tables square roots, cube roots, reciprocals, Pythagorean triples, organised as lookup systems so that users could find answers without performing the underlying mathematics themselves.

This is the conceptual architecture of a computer. The Sumerians implemented it in clay five thousand years ago, with a sophistication that has no developmental precursor in the archaeological record.

The Yale tablet contains the square root of 2 accurate to six decimal places. The edubba scribal schools preserved and distributed this knowledge through a standardised institutional curriculum.

Nobody has explained where the original calculations came from.
